The Swedish Film Institute’s aims are to support production, promotion and distribution of films, to preserve and promote the Swedish film heritage as well as to represent Swedish films internationally. Finance for the support for Swedish film production and the distribution and screening of films throughout the country comes from government grants, the TV companies which are party to the film agreement between the Swedish state and the film and media industry, and Sweden's cinema owners.
