The Institut Català de les Indústries Culturals (ICIC) is an agency of the Catalan government whose mission is to support the cultural industries in Catalonia. In the audiovisual sector ICIC supports cinema and television projects. Among other support schemes, ICIC has an automatic funding scheme for television documentaries.
Its main requirements are:
- production company based in Catalunya - film to be aired on free-tv in Catalunya - at least a second, confirmed broadcaster
There are other requirements related to the percentage of expenses that have to be made in Catalunya. The amount of support depends on the number of successful applications at every round (usually 2 per year). The grant cannot be more than 15% of the production budget and is limited at 24.000 euros per film. In the last rounds the average sum is around 15.000 euros.
